COMP200 – Last assignment(s) of the year

Here is the write-up for Assignment 3, that includes the implementation of Linked Lists, Stacks and Queues.

You also have to implement the Koch Snowflake Drawing using stack. I have added my thoughts in the comment section of the course page.

Here is the write-up for Assignment 5, where you have to implement the expression calculators.

All these are due right after the Christmas Break. There will be individual assessment via Viva. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Assignment 2 is now uploaded here. The last question carries more marks than any other problem. Solve it and email me the soft copy of your solution by the due date, i.e. 02-Jan-2012 [11:59 pm].

Remember that you have to refrain from plagiarism. You can find a simpler explanation of plagiarism here. Plagiarism will almost certainly result in an F grade in this course.

Spreadsheet Software

Please check the practice questions in the following exercises. Note that in question some of the questions you will have to use formulas like count, max and min, which you should explore on your own.

Problem Set 1
In each of the respective problem, you need to fill the appropriate column automatically depending on the data in other cell. 1-Appraisal, 2-Scholarship, 3-Description, 4-Can Avail Holidays, Tax, Take Home Income and Grade, 5-Area Code.
Problems Set 2
Question 1 has the requirements mentioned below the data. In the next two questions, you need to generate some tables based on the data provided, the terms that you may not understand like Fibonacci Sequence, you should investigate them on your own, using sources like Wikipedia, etc.

There will be an exam on spreadsheet skills in the first class after the break.

Sci-Fi Movie

There is no requirement for watching a Sci-Fi movie and writing a review on that. However you may watch as many movies as you want and enjoy the vacation, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

How to activate your FC College Email

If you have not already activated your official FC College email, here is the way to do it:

Login to: http://mail.formanite.fccollege.edu.pk
Your login = your college roll number
Password = your FCC roll # + your First name (Capitalize the first letter)

Example:

Login: 12-12345
Password: 12-12345Kashif

Some Email Ethics

I expect that most of the students would follow some norms, meant to be followed when sending an email in a formal capacity.

Your subject line should contain your Roll No/Name and the course code you are taking with me (in case it is related to course).
Do not use words like bcz (because), u (you), smthg (something), etc
Configure your email accounts so that they reflect your real names, i have mails from strange account names; here are some examples:
Formanites R Dynamites..
Hum Tum
Please avoid filmi names, you are rather supposed to use your official email account that you can get from the IT support people. Do not configure your official accounts with foolish names like the aboves.
